MY family went to the outer banks off north carolina. my wife with 3 children ages about 3,4,5& myself age 25 went into the water . thank GOD my wife didnt like the pull of the oceanand went with children back to the blanket. i walked out about up to my elbows maybe 4-5 feet deep. all of a sudden i was being dragged ob the bottom i wasted time digging my fingers into the sand. finnally the pulling stopped and i was tumbeling it was so black i didnt know which way was up ?MY lungs were feeling like they would burst. A voice in my head said DONT PANIC. I let a little air out and saw bubbles going up DAYLIGHT!LOOKED so far away I thought of my family and a ruined vacation. and swam up letting a little more air out.I broke surface next to where the steel jetty went under water. a very dangerous spot due to the waves. i grabbed a big breath of air and swam under water to get out of that spot. then i started swimming and floating back i swam with the waves going in When i touched sand i could feel the pull and exhausted ran out that was a very hard fight to get out of the water.I know i have a angel around me.
