TORI: If you’ve been slacking on some of the maintenance projects at home, here are five repairs that may make an impact when it comes time to sell.
TORI: 1. Landscaping. Fix both the front and backyards by adding mulch and removing leaves, branches, and debris; plant bushes, flowers, and add planters around the front door and walkway.
TORI: Mow grass, remove weeds and make sure to constantly water everything while on the market to help ensure everything remains green and healthy.
TORI: 2. Paint the front door. Your home’s front entrance is the first thing homebuyers will see.
TORI: Add a fresh coat of paint on the door to make it look like new and show off your home’s personality.
TORI: Don’t forget a seasonal wreath and doormat.
TORI: 3. Paint the interior. If you haven’t painted in a decade … it’s time!
TORI: Remove worn out wallpaper, patch any holes or cracks on your walls and add a fresh coat of paint in a neutral color like beige or gray.
TORI: 4. Lighting. Take note that if your light fixtures and lamps are outdated or builder grade, you’ll want to replace them in order to freshen up the room.
TORI: 5. Grout and caulk. Remove years off kitchens and baths by cleaning grout lines and re-caulking around windows, sinks and tubs regularly, as both grout and caulk tend to wear over time.
TORI: Remember you may need to spend a little money to sell your home, and leveraging home repairs whether small or big may add value to your home if done correctly.
