Finding out you’re having a baby might be one of the most exciting moments of your life. And sharing your news with family and friends is part of the excitement. So, how do you announce your pregnancy in a way that’s memorable? Make it seasonal!

1. Use a Holiday

The next few months offer some great opportunities to give your pregnancy announcement a holiday theme. If you celebrate the holiday, Easter can be the perfect time to share your big news. Readers of BabyCenter offered Easter pregnancy announcement ideas, such as:

  • Decorate eggs with notes such as, “We’re eggspecting” or “Due to hatch: October 2015.”
  • Put the ultrasound picture in an Easter basket with a marshmallow chick for each family member and a note saying “Adding another peep!”

2. Use a Sport

If you and your partner are avid fans of a certain sports team, why not use that to announce your pregnancy? Basketball and hockey seasons are in full swing, with baseball just around the corner. Surprise your husband with a pregnancy announcement when you watch the next game. What To Expect suggests giving him baby items, such as a bib, T-shirts, onesie, pacifier or tiny hat, with his favorite team’s symbol and telling him a new fan is on the way.

Babble offers a great sports-related way to tell all of your family members you are expecting. If you are attending a game, ask the park or arena to put your news on the big screen and then take a photo when the message appears. Send the picture to family members who couldn’t attend the game and wait for the hugs and congratulations from the ones who could.

3. Use a Season

Specific holidays aren’t the only way to have a timely pregnancy announcement. The end of winter and early spring can be nice themes for sharing your big news as well. Fit Pregnancy suggests snapping a photo with seasonal props, such as a baby bunny or duck for spring, and sending it to your loved ones.

For winter-themed photos, why not make a subtle change to an already popular announcement idea? Parenting.com says some parents take a picture of the dad’s, mom’s and baby’s shoes accompanied by a note saying, “Our family will be growing by two feet in September 2015.” Using snow boots can make the announcement more seasonal.

Announcing a pregnancy is exciting no matter what time of year and how you do it, but it might be more fun to have a theme. Before deciding what you want to do, consider these seasonal ideas.
