Quick Fix: Organize Your Cords With Toilet Paper Rolls
Do you have a drawer full of tangled cords? Upcycle a common household item to keep them in line. By dressing up a toilet paper roll with wrapping paper, you can store your cords in style. Stack a collection of these handy cord holders in a box to keep a whole drawer full of cords organized.
Step 1: Grab a toilet paper roll, wrapping paper, scissors and double-sided tape.
Step 2: Wrap the paper around the roll, allowing about a half-inch of extra paper to hang over each end. Cut slits about an inch apart down the paper on each end, then apply double-sided tape to the paper to affix it to the inside of the roll, Apartment Therapy recommends. This will ensure your new organizational tool is not an eyesore if it’s placed on a table or shelf.
Step 3: Fold the cord up neatly and insert it into the toilet paper roll.
Step 4: If you have a whole drawer full of cords to organize, Instructables advises filling an empty shoe box or plastic storage bin with toilet paper rolls. Stick the folded cords into each roll to keep them neat. This also works well if you need to keep cords organized during a move.
